SC Oral History Project

The Project aims are

  1. To record and honour the work of school counsellor so that the history of their work and contributions to school communities and the society at large is not lost or forgotten.
  2. The project hopes to reveal the responsive, varied and vibrant, active and influential roles of school counsellors within school communities and school systems over time.
  3. Provide a history for future school counsellors to reflect upon and inform their current practice. To support building capacity for best practice.
  4. To capture the history and evidence of school counsellors’ work in order to inform the future directions for school counselling or psychologists within schools.
  5. Bridge the gap between the perception and the reality of school counsellor work and their working history.
